SUMMARY:Paul N. Edwards: “Afterworld: Technosphere\, Anthropocene\, Geostory”
DESCRIPTION:Paul N. Edwards’ current research concerns the history and future of knowledge infrastructures\, the history of climate science\, and other large-scale information infrastructures. Edwards is the author most recently of A Vast Machine: Computer Models\, Climate Data\, and the Politics of Global Warming (2010). \nEdwards is Professor at the School of Information and Department of History at University of Michigan. \n  \nThe Center for Cultural Studies will continue to host a Wednesday colloquium series\, which features current cultural studies work by campus faculty and visitors. The sessions are informal\, normally consisting of a 30-40 minute presentation followed by discussion. We gather at noon\, with presentations beginning at 12:15.
