THI invites applications for our Public Fellows program. Public Fellows contribute to research, programming, communications, and fundraising at companies, non-profit organizations, or cultural institutions and gain valuable experience applying their skills and expertise outside of academia.
Application deadline (extended): April 21st, 2022
* Note that applicants are required to attend a Public Fellows Info Session on March 3, 2022, or meet with THI staff by March 25, 2022.
We offer two graduate fellowship opportunities.
- 2022 Summer Public Fellows work for up to 200 hours with a partner organization during the summer quarter. THI provides funding and helps create partnerships where possible.
- 2022-2023 Year-Long Public Fellows work for 3-quarters with a non-profit organization, company, or cultural institution. The year-long fellowship enables students to have a greater impact on partner organizations and further develop their own interests and skills.
UC Santa Cruz students can either propose a project with a new organization or work with an existing THI partner. Learn more about previous fellows on our Public Fellowship page.
