Craft Between Worlds
Carlo Acevedo is a Colombian poet who is the author of Day’s Fortune / Fortuna del día, a bilingual collection. His work won the 2018 Arcipreste de Hita prize. Born in Barranquilla, Colombia in 1988, Acevedo holds a master’s degree in Creative Writing in Spanish from the University of Iowa and is currently a Ph.D. student in the Interdisciplinary Humanities program at the University of California, Merced. His poems have appeared in numerous national and international anthologies, and the English translation of Day’s Fortune by Kelsi Vanada won the Sundial Literary Translation Award in 2024.
About the Living Writers Series
The Living Writers Series (LWS) is a live reading series organized especially for the Creative Writing Program community at UCSC. There is a new series each quarter, and each series features writers with unique voices. The LWS is open to all creative writing students and the public.
