Three Faculty Fellows Join NHC Programs
We are delighted to announce that three UC Santa Cruz faculty members have been selected to participate in the National Humanities Center’s (NHC) Summer Residency Program and Summer Writing Institute.
Josefina Bittar (Language & Applied Linguistics) is participating in the NHC’s Summer Residency Program, a four-week summer residency program running from June 2-27, 2025 intended to assist in jump-starting or making substantial progress on a current project. Through this program, faculty experience a concentrated period of supported research and intellectual exchange at the Center, a setting customized for and highly conducive to humanities research and writing.
Fuifuilupe Niumeitolu (Critical Race and Ethnic Studies) and Kate Jones (History) will participate in the NHC’s inaugural Summer Writing Institute, which will run from July 10-18, 2025. Alongside dedicated time to write, participants will have the opportunity to work with highly acclaimed writing coach Helen Betya Rubinstein, as well as with editors from a respected academic press. Additional sessions will cover topics such as online research tools, open source publishing, copyright issues, trade presses, and establishing a writing accountability group.
Congratulations to our three NHC faculty fellows!
