Announcing our 2020-2021 theme: Memory
Looking Forward and Looking Back
The Humanities Institute is excited to announce our new theme: Memory. Throughout 2019-2020, during THI’s twentieth birthday, we’ve been exploring futurities and the ways that thinking about the future informs our present. Next year, we’ll turn our attention to the ways that memories of the past inform the current social, academic, and political landscapes we find ourselves in.
Faculty who are interested in pursuing innovative research initiatives and interdisciplinary collaborations related to our new theme are encouraged to apply for a THI Research Cluster by May 1.
We also invite graduate students to apply to teach a new course that will focus specifically on Memory and the Americas. Selected graduate student instructors will work together with support from faculty mentors to develop an undergraduate syllabus. Applications for Public Humanities Graduate Student Instructor Positions are due May 15 and include a summer fellowship.
