CFA: Center for the Middle East and North Africa Undergraduate Research Paper Awards 2025

The Center for the Middle East and North Africa (CMENA) gives excellence awards at the end of each academic year to recognize undergraduate student achievement. Three awards will be offered based on the best research papers that analyze the MENA region and were written for a class that counts towards the CMENA minor (the list for 2024-2025 can be found here). The papers should have been written for a class that was held from Spring 2024-Winter 2025. Each awardee will receive $200 in recognition of their achievement and will be invited to speak briefly about their research at the CMENA end of the year party on Thursday, May 29, 5:30-7pm.
Eligibility: The student paper must be:
- Analyzing the MENA region
- Written for a class included in the CMENA Minor (see list here)
- Written for a class held between Spring 2024 and Winter 2025
Application consists of:
1) Copy of research paper
2) Cover letter, which includes a) the class for which the paper was written and the name of the faculty member who taught the class, b) your expected graduation date and major, and c) a brief description of the paper’s research topic and methodology
