The 2023 Morton Marcus Memorial Poetry Prize is now open! Writers are invited to submit one poem per entry, up to two pages in length. The winning poem will receive a $1,000 prize, and publication in Catamaran’s 2023 winter edition. The winner will also be invited to read the winning poem at the 12th Annual Morton Marcus Poetry reading sponsored by The Humanities Institute at The University of California at Santa Cruz. The winner will be announced at the Morton Marcus reading. The reading will be held in person on November 3rd, 2022 at UCSC, and will feature a special guest reading by Chitra Divakaruni. This year’s judge is Santa Cruz poet Maggie Paul.
