FreeOpen Access, Data Management and Library Resources
What does Open Access mean for you? How can you organize and manage your research materials to best support your writing? And, what kinds of resources are available to graduate students for accessing data and information? This PhD+ panel features librarians who will discuss a range of issues, including depositing your dissertation, data management, and the ethics of sharing your work in an Open Access world. We will discuss:
- The Presidential Open Access Policy, and how it pertains to graduate research
- Publishing in Open Access journals and the potential impact on book contracts and job searches (academic + beyond)
- and, Open Access as Social Justice
Take the opportunity to get to know your librarians and to engage in a graduate student specific conversation about Open Access. The panelists will also answer questions about ILL, digital research methodologies, citation software, library-based subscriptions, and other related research tools. Check out these library services and resources and join us to learn more.
Lunch will be served, as always.
