“Critical Description After Progress”
Professor Tsing’s current research tracks the commerce and ecology of a high-value wild mushroom to illuminate contemporary dilemmas of capitalism and multispecies life. The in-progress Living in Ruins explores the consequences of building capitalist supply chains among cultural and biological histories of disturbance and precarious survival.

The Center for Cultural Studies hosts a weekly Wednesday colloquium featuring work by faculty and visitors. The sessions consist of a 30-40 minute presentation followed by discussion. We gather at noon, with presentations beginning at 12:15 PM. Participants are encouraged to bring their own lunches; the Center provides coffee, tea, and cookies.
