PhD+ Workshop – Proposal Writing: Framing Your Research for Grants and Fellowships
June 4, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm | Virtual Event
Proposal Writing: Framing Your Research for Grants and Fellowships
Learn how to make your fellowship and grant proposals competitive to a wide range of selection committees. We’ll discuss what does and does not need to be in a research proposal, the proper tone and form, and ways to tease out the larger stakes of individual research projects and avoid the jargon of field-specific descriptions. This session will help you craft a research proposal that appeals to a broad academic audience.
The workshop will be led by Sean Keilen (Literature Department), Holly Unruh (Executive Director, Arts Research Institute), Saskia Nauenberg Dunkell (THI Research Program Manager), and Matthew Tedford (Art and Humanities Research Development GSR).
About the PhD+ Workshop Series
Join us for the fifth year of PhD+ Workshops, hosted by The Humanities Institute. We meet monthly to discuss possible career paths for PhDs, internship possibilities, grants/fellowships, work/life balance, elements of style, online identity issues, and much, much more. *Note that all 2020-2021 PhD+ workshops are open to University of California faculty, staff, and students and will be held virtually until further notice.
