Planting Oceania & Healing Communities

Planting Oceania is a Oceanian/Indigenous Pacific Islander community organization that plants traditional foods in two gardens located at Filoli Historic House and Gardens in Woodside and at the UC Giltract Farms in Albany. Members of Planting Oceania will share stories about growing plants and stewarding the Land as an important cultural practice for building Oceania/Pacific Islander communities in California. Panelists will discuss being good guests and building good relations with Native California tribal leaders and communities–the Indigenous stewards of the Land–protocols they center in their land-based work.
