Robert Davis: “The Socio-Economy of Head Hunting in Late Renaissance Italy”

FreeA distinguished professor of Early Modern Italy, Venice, and the Mediterranean, Professor Robert Davis has written or co-authored eight books and many articles that deal with a variety of topics, including slavery in the Mediterranean, Venetian shipbuilding, masculinity and the rituals of public violence, and Venice as a modern tourist city. His broad interests are always anchored by his fascination with the lives of ordinary people. Professor Davis’ current work is on brigandage in Early Modern Italy.
