Dai Jinhua: “A Cultural Landscape with No Coordinates: Contemporary Chinese Cinema”
May 25, 2016 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm | Stevenson Fireside Lounge
Dai Jinhua is currently researching the cultural politics of China after the post-Cold War, the “rise of China,” and the erasures and elisions of China’s anti-colonial, third world socialist past. Bringing her feminist Marxism to bear, Dai Jinhua interprets Chinese film and culture, examining traces of forgotten histories. This talk is generously co-sponsored by the Center for Emerging Worlds and will have a simultaneous interpreter.
Jinhua is Professor in the Institute of Comparative Literature and Culture at Beijing University.
